The Amelie Workshop was a place where Amelie enthusiasts came together to learn music from the movie in an ensemble setting. Following the successful model of the Tom Waits Accordion Ensemble, the workshop was held in public at the Temescal Café in Oakland where gawkers and innocent bystanders listened in. The Temescal Café is a wonderful neighborhood café with a large selection of soups, salads and sandwiches.

By the end of the workshop’s six-month run, we had explored several songs from the movie, and the classes included some Amelie jam session.
